The School of Business is one of the largest business schools in Western Canada. We deliver programming to more than 3,800 students in credit programs and 10,000 registrants annually in our professional and leadership programs. Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Academic Chair is a management position providing leadership and managing activities related to the Supply Chain major in the BBA degree and BA diploma programs. In addition, the Academic Chair will collaborate on school and institutional initiatives connected to our Strategic Plan in the areas of Student Success, Sustainable Growth, Employee Success, Innovation in Applied Education and Partnerships. You are a collaborative, team player with critical thinking and conflict resolution abilities. In addition, you possess strong communication skills and a results oriented attitude.




  • Leading academic excellence in the areas of teaching, research, curriculum, credentials, accreditation, articulation and innovation.
  • Optimizing the student experience through management of learner satisfaction, enrolment and internationalization/diversity opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow connections with external stakeholders in the supply chain management profession.
  • Supporting stakeholder and market focus through new program and growth opportunities and enhancing graduate employment rates.
  • Working in a collaborative team with other Academic Chairs in the School of Business to manage, grow and strengthen our programs.
  • Managing administration requirements of the Supply Chain major, including budgeting, forecasting, recruiting faculty and students, assigning teaching duties, etc.
  • Liaison with other internal stakeholders.



  • Minimum undergraduate degree in business or a supply chain related field; A Master’s level credential in business, supply chain management or education is preferred
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience; Professional experience in supply chain management and a related SCM professional designation is preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in post-secondary education in a faculty or educational management role
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience is an asset
