The Centre for Instructional Technology and Development (CITD) is a centralized department within SAIT Polytechnic. Our focus is supporting the schools and centers in their pursuit of the SAIT strategic priorities of Teaching Excellence, Curriculum Excellence, and e-Learning. CITD does this by establishing leadership, support and development in three key areas: Faculty Development, Curriculum Development and Learning Technologies.
CITD’s mandate is to be a catalyst for excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and curriculum development and to apply new technologies that enhance student, staff and instructor success.
Faculty Development Services is committed to helping instructors develop the best teaching and learning practices in the varied learning environments at SAIT. Their goal is to be a conduit to showcase faculty expertise and to facilitate the development of teaching excellence. Using a needs-based approach the unit plans and delivers training and development opportunities that align with faculty and school needs, while at the same time supporting the achievement of SAIT’s short and longer-term strategic goals.
With the permission of the Dean, the candidate will serve a two year appointment within Faculty Development Services. At the end of the two year secondment, the candidate will resume his/her original responsibilities and continue to proactively foster teaching excellence within his/her program and school.
Reporting to the Director, Centre for Instructional Technology and Development, the incumbent is a faculty member responsible for providing leadership and support to the SAIT academic community in developing knowledge of and enhancing application of adult learning principles and selection and application of available tools and technologies in the institute’s programs and services.
